[SusProg3D - SUSPENSION BY DESIGN

Version 5.160 has a number of enhancements.

Thanks to all of those who made comments and suggestions.

In no particular order.

V5.160A (Build 1740.0)

bullet

This release has targeted performance improvements together with increased calculation resolution:
- updated the calling sequence when doing multiple calculations to eliminate duplicated calculations,
- refactoring most calculations to use vector and matrix calculations,
- significantly increased the speed of matrix inverse calculations,
- increased the angular resolution from 1.8x10-5 to 1.8x10-7 radians (1.0x10-5 or 0.00001 degree),
- increased the linear resolution from 1.0x10-3 (metric) and 1.0x10-4 (imperial) to 1.0x10-6 (for both).

The graph on the left was calculated using V5.152F and while it shows the general trend of the bump steer, it has some anomalies.
The graph on the right was calculated with V5.160A. It uses identical data, but with the increased resolution for the calculations, particularly for the wheel alignment camber, caster and toe calculations, the result is now a smooth graph.

bullet

Updated the non-steering rear suspensions to include bump steer in the roll&bump calculations.

bullet

Updated the steering front suspensions geometry calculations and added the basic steering linkage.

bullet

Added the spindle/hub face coordinate to the Results page and to Excel exports

V5.160B (Build 1741.1)

bullet

Updated the OpenGL version checking code.

bullet

Added the UprightShim data to Input2Excel and Excel2Input.
Thanks to Sean for this one.

V5.160C (Build 1741.2)

bullet

Corrected the live axle static calculations to set the pinion angle (if specified).

bullet

Updated the file read to handle a corrupted data value.
Thanks to Luke for this one.

V5.160D (Build 1741.3)

bullet

Fixed the bug in the OpenGL version identification.
Thanks to Jan, Osvaldo and Allar for this one.

V5.160M (Build 1741.12)

bullet

Corrected various live and portal axle bugs:
- wheel location using links doesnt allow for link length input
- live axle doesnt allow for StaticAxleAngle
- wheel lead incorrect
- pinion offset changes sign
- updated and corrected the turning calculations
Thanks to Jan for these.

bullet

Updated eCalc and vCalc to only calc driveline when specifically requested

bullet

Corrected the wheel alignment calc for double A-arms.
Corrected the spring calculations to hold the spring free length for actual springs.
Thanks to Sean for these.

V5.160N (Build 1741.13)

bullet

Corrected the Watts linkage calculations.
Fixed an issue with some results pages showing a ghost scrollbar.
Thanks to Sean for these.

V5.160Q (Build 1741.16)

bullet

Updated the roll and bump calculation to include the CoG.
Thanks to Gavin for this one.

bullet

Updated the Dynamic calculations to zero the antrirollbar rates when the antirollbar was deleted.
Thanks to Sean for this one.

V5.160Q (Build 1741.17)

bullet

Updated the Mumford linkage calculations to allow for initially unspecified linkage dimensions.
Previously if the Mumford linkage was not completely dimensioned, the Geometry calculations would fail.
Now the calculation will still raise an error message, but will then allow the use of the Mumford tool to design the linkage.
Thanks to Mike for this one.
always appreciated.
